He has been honored with Bangla Academy Award, Shishu Academy Award and Ekushe Podok. He wrote several TV drama serials and directed some movies. His movies not only bring middle class familys back to theture but also won many awards. He is a former professor in Chemistry Department of Dhaka University, Bangladesh.
