Rituparno plays the bahu while Aparna plays the cranky saas who falls ill and later has her divorced bahu take care of her. Touching. The woman's voice speaks loud and clear in this one. Cinema at its best! Trifle long but nevertheless worthwhile. Expect no less from Aparna Sen!

This film won the award of the best Bengali language film in the 47th National Film Awards for 1999. 'Paromitar Ek Din has also won awards for singer Jayashree Dasgupta for her song - 'Hriday ammar prokash Holo' and as best Bengali language film.
